This is a COM port to TCP/IP converter. It can bridge data between any combination of Com and UDP or TCP ports when the TCP ports can be in client/server modes.
HsTcp2Com is a communications application for Windows. It allows to forward / bridge data between serial ports (RS232, Bluetooth, IrDA, USB) represented as COM ports and TCP/IP connections or UDP/IP links. While it is a COM port to TCP/IP converter in a simple view, it can bridge data between any number of COM and UDP/TCP ports in client/server mode. What that really means is that this program can help devices on serial port be readable from anywhere on a TCP/IP network. Data collection devices such as modems, sensors, bar code scanners, meters, wireless devices, PBXes and any serial instruments can communicate through the serial ports of the PC. The data then can be read anywhere over the IP network.
It is possible to set up 32 links with several configurations of serial port and UDP/TCP combinations. Should communication fail, automatic reconnect of the disconnected ports. Several data forwarding options are possible that include forwarding of data immediately on receipt, on buffer full, on inter character timeout or on frame end character. The interface shows you the links set up and lets you set the link related configurations. Diagnostics and stats available are port status, port receive and transmit byte counts, log maintained, traffic trace in ASCII and Hex formats, data traffic generation function and sending of a single buffer function. This package then provides an easy means of integrating serial data collection.
